The Gift That Keeps On Giving
When you hear or read the term, “the gift that keeps 
on giving” , you know that by this term is meant as a compliment, and is very positive. I’ve known for over a week that I would be writing this piece, and I’ve thought very long and hard on how
I would conduct myself ( the tone of the article). I’ve come to the decision that I would be above board, and as positive as I can, because this article demands it,
sort of.
O.k., the story on the web that I’m writing about today has to do with the donations and contributions that brangelina separately and jointly have given.
The combinded amount for 2006 is over eight (8) million dollars; pitt gave $4,402,317.-( any cents?), and jolie gave $ 4,123,613.-( any sense?). This information was released by the Huffington Post and was distributed ( the news of it) to all the websites out here. I, myself, got all this from People.com. Right, so I was reading what it all went to -what charities and causes ( which I won’t go through here- it’s just too much to write!) For that , you’ll have to go to people, really any website that reports on this stuff.
What I want to say is that what they have done is VERY GENEROUS. There’s no getting around that. Even those, like myself, who don’t really like them, have to own up and say that that’s pretty cool. And because they CAN DO THIS , DOES NOT negate what they’ve done.
BUT- (you knew there would be a but in this!) , there still seems something out of kilter about this. We know that they have the means (the money) to give these very generous amounts. And every person SHOULD GIVE TO THE EXTENT OF THEIR MEANS, especially rich people. But when I look at brangelina (and I’ve been watching them ever since they’ve become two), (I know I’m not the only one), it seems increasingly clear to me, that there MIGHT be something unhealthy about this. Let’s look at this more closely.
When they came together (what a way to put it!) , from the moment they have been together, it’s like everything they do is in excess and a grandiose spectacle! The bar that they have lifted ( the standard to which they’ve set for themselves) is set SO HIGH, that who or whom shall overcome it??! I keep asking myself when yet another more spectacular feat has been accomplished by brangelina, I shake my head and wonder where it’s all going to end up. I’m a little afraid that these two are going to implode, like two huge quasars. 
You know- where there’s always a beginning, there’s
also always an ending. I just want to know what fuels it
all. Generosity- sure. But I also think that there’s
also something else that’s fueling this epic giving. Shall I say it? GUILT…..
